As a profession, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy allows you to bridge the gap between your career and your spiritual life. Our Training and Certification Programs offer a unique opportunity for a fulfilling career in this powerfully effective healing modality that combines the best of ancient yogic wisdom with the cutting edge of contemporary therapeutic insights.

You will learn to guide clients safely to the edge of deep physical sensation. Here, with awareness focused on those sensations, you enter into dialogue. Rather than try to fix anything, you simply help clients listen to their body's wisdom — listen without judgment or a need to change — which helps release underlying emotions or beliefs that often manifest in chronic aches and pains.

We provide certification for two career paths — as a Practitioner working one-on-one with clients or as a Yoga Teacher leading therapeutic yoga classes that incorporate the Phoenix Rising Approach. The building blocks for each certification are Levels 1 and 2. Many people choose to complete certification in both to build flexibility and variety into their professional practice.

Level 1 >> Level 2 >> Level 3 = Practitioner Certification
Level 1 >> Level 2 >> Module A >> Module B = Yoga Teacher Certification
Yoga Alliance approved for a 200-hour teacher certification

Click on each Training Level for complete descriptions:

Completion of training at three levels is required to become certified as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner.

Level 1 and Level 2 introduce you to the basic concepts, fundamental postures, and important dialogue techniques. Level 3, required for certification, is a eight-month, distance learning program and applied practicum.

Students are assigned mentors who give feedback, guide studies and personal growth, and help students refine techniques. Acceptance into Level 3 is based on application and proficiency after Levels 1 and 2.

During the training, we focus on each student's personal, as well as professional, development; we believe that the quality of the yoga therapy practitioner's presence is a key factor in how well a client benefits from a session.
