This course expands the student’s ability to facilitate and hold space for therapeutic yoga classes using the Phoenix Rising method and its eight themes of transformation. Students expand their repertoire of asana, pranayama, meditation, and style. Students explore how to grow their teaching practice with private yoga sessions, short workshops and presentations, networking, and creating a professional presence.

This approach emphasizes specializing the class delivery based on the therapeutic needs of a specific population. Students learn to offer inclusive, adaptable, and trauma sensitive instruction using the Phoenix Rising Method and provide thematic cuing that leads to deeper awareness. Ultimately students learn to hold space for transformative life experiences in a yoga class. This course is highly experiential including delivery of public classes, peer teaching and observation, and self-evaluation and self-mentoring.
