A Time to Reconnect: Self-Care Through Embodied Awareness
Posted on: by Michael Lee, MA, C-IAYT
The Summer Solstice arrives each year as a quiet threshold—a moment suspended in time, inviting us to pause at the height of the sun’s arc.
Too often, we rush past these natural turning points, swept along by obligations and the familiar pressure to keep going. But what if we marked the Solstice not with urgency, but with stillness? Not with more doing, but with attuning?
In a world that often values productivity over presence, making time for self-care—especially the kind that connects body and mind—isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. When we intentionally slow down and tune into our embodied awareness, we create space to release stress, restore balance, and reconnect with our true selves beneath the busyness.
This year, I invite you to carve out space—right now—for a 90-minute online Solstice gathering on June 20, from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm EDT. Add it to your calendar today so that when the day arrives, you are not too busy to show up for yourself.
Together, we’ll engage in practices for both body and mind—movement and meditation designed to help us slow down, listen in, and realign with what matters most. The Solstice is more than a seasonal marker. It is a chance to reset. To shed the weight of stress and gently return to your center.
This is the spirit that also inspired the newly republished edition of my book, Turn Stress into Bliss—a guide to navigating challenges with presence, not pressure.
Let the Solstice be your reminder that growth doesn’t always come from effort—it often begins with a pause. 🌞 Join me on June 20: https://www.michaelleeyoga.com/offers/BGRJ8XaC
